Landscape Design in Daytona Beach

We plan your yard around how it will look in five years, not just on install day. That means plants spaced for their mature size, beds graded to shed water, and choices that hold up to heat and sandy soil. You get a clear plan before anything goes in the ground.

A Plan That Still Works After the First Summer

Most landscapes look good the week they go in. The difference shows up a year or two later, when shrubs crowd a walkway, a bed stays soggy after every storm, or a plant that loved the nursery shade is scorched by afternoon sun. Good landscape design heads off those problems on paper, where fixing them costs nothing.

We walk your property, note where the sun falls through the day, where water collects, and how you actually use the space. Then we draw a plan that places each plant where it can thrive and spaces it for the size it will reach. Near the coast, that also means favoring plants that tolerate salt spray and sandy, fast-draining soil.

Landscape design is the right call when you are starting from bare ground, redoing tired beds, or adding a patio and want the plantings to fit around it. If you only need fresh mulch or a lawn refresh, our mulch and beds or lawn care service may be all you need, and we will tell you so.

What Your Design Includes

Site walkthrough and measurements

We measure beds, walkways and open areas, and note sun exposure, slopes, existing trees and any spots where water sits. This is the groundwork every other decision rests on.

Scaled layout drawing

You get a drawing showing where beds, plants, paths and any hardscape go. Seeing it laid out makes it easy to change your mind before a single plant is bought.

Plant list with mature sizes

Each plant on the list comes with its expected height and spread, light needs and water needs. We space them for full size, so you are not pulling out crowded shrubs in three years.

Drainage and grading notes

We mark where soil should slope away from your home and where water needs a path out of a bed. Small grading choices decide whether roots rot or stay healthy.

Irrigation zoning plan

Plants that need similar water are grouped together, so one zone can water them correctly. That plan carries straight over if you have us handle irrigation.

Installation-ready details

Edging type, bed depth, soil amendments and mulch are spelled out, so the install follows the plan instead of guesswork.

Signs Your Yard Needs a Real Design

Shrubs are swallowing windows or walkways
This usually means plants were chosen for their size at the nursery, not their size at maturity. Constant hard pruning stresses them and never really fixes it.
Beds stay wet after rain
Standing water in a bed points to grading or soil problems. Replanting in the same spot without correcting it just repeats the loss.
Plants keep dying in the same spot
Repeated failures often come down to the wrong plant for the light or soil there. A design matches plant to place.
The yard does not fit how you live
Maybe there is no shade where you want to sit, or the kids have worn a path through a bed. A plan can work with those habits instead of fighting them.
You are adding a patio or walkway
Hardscape changes drainage and sightlines. Designing the plantings at the same time keeps everything fitting together.

How a Design Project Goes

  1. 1

    Free walkthrough and conversation

We visit your home, walk the yard with you and ask what you like, what bothers you and how much upkeep you want. You come away with a free estimate for the design and any install work.

  2. 2

    Draft plan and plant list

We prepare the layout drawing and plant list, then go over it with you in person. We explain why each plant is where it is.

  3. 3

    Revisions until it is right

You tell us what to swap, move or drop. We adjust the plan and the estimate together, so the numbers always match the drawing.

  4. 4

    Installation to the plan

Our crew preps the soil, sets grades, installs edging and places plants at the spacing on the drawing. We clean up the work area at the end of each day and walk the finished job with you.

What Shapes the Cost of a Design

We put a number on a design only after we have stood in your yard, because size, sun and soil change from one lot to the next. Your free estimate breaks the design and each part of the install into separate lines. That way you can see where the money goes and phase the work if you prefer.

Size of the area
A front entry bed takes less planning and material than a full front and back yard.
Plant sizes and quantity
Bigger container plants give you a fuller look on day one, and the price climbs with them. Smaller stock set at the right spacing keeps the budget down and usually closes the gaps within a few growing seasons.
Soil and grading work
Sandy soil often needs amending, and low spots may need regrading before planting. What we find underneath affects the scope.
Hardscape and irrigation
Adding pavers, borders or new irrigation zones increases the project, though planning them together avoids tearing up new plantings later.
Removal of what is there
Clearing old shrubs, stumps or overgrown bamboo adds labor. We note it on the estimate so nothing is a surprise.

Landscape Design Questions

Do I have to use you for the installation?
No. The plan is yours to keep. Most customers have us install it because we know exactly why each detail is there, but that choice is up to you.
Can you design a yard that needs less upkeep?
Yes, and it is one of the most common requests we get. We lean on plants suited to our heat and sandy soil, space them so they rarely need shearing, and group them by water need. Less pruning and fewer replacements is the result.
Will the plants survive salt air and summer storms?
We choose plants with those conditions in mind, especially for homes closer to the beach. We also set beds and grades so heavy rain drains off instead of drowning roots.
Is financing available for a larger project?
Yes. You can finance a design and install project for amounts as high as $100,000, with repayment terms anywhere from two to twelve years. Paying the balance off early carries no penalty. Bring it up when you call, and we will walk through how it fits your plan at the estimate visit.
How long does it take to get a design?
It depends on the size of the yard and how many revisions you want. We will give you a realistic timeline at the walkthrough, and we do not start installing until you are happy with the plan.
